When disaster struck Chernobyl, the Soviet Union sent soldiers in to evacuate the city in "potective gear" that was known to be entirely ineffective against radiation. They were also instructed to shoot all dogs on site in order to remove the threat of radioactive dogs roaming the countryside. In this ten minute play, two Soviet soldiers sit down with a Chernobyl dog to share a drink.

Dogs was commissioned by Blue Box World for their evening of short plays Deserted Islands/Deserted Cities, and performed at The Bowery Poetry Club, directed by Libby Emmons.
